Gili Air (Gili means island and Air means water) is a small island surrounded by a white sandy beach, which is located off the north-west coast of Lombok.
Gili Air is perfect for those wanting the peace and quiet of a desert island. Since it has become more popular as a tourist destination over the last few years, it also offers a number of activities for the traveller seeking a more active holiday. There are several diving schools which offer PADI accreditation and a range of activities such as snorkeling, cycling, kayaking, fishing and boat trips to view dolphins, swim with turtles or visit the other two Gili islands. Activites on Lombok such as trekking to Mt Rinjani, or a one day tour around Lombok can also be arranged on Gili Air.
